One of the grandest hotels in London, The Berkeley is particularly renowned for its luxurious suites. Designed by André Fu, the suites are sanctuaries of tranquillity inspired by the famous, radically modern Glass House. The Opus Suite is the hotel’s gem—it is large and spectacular, with a 270-degree view of Hyde Park and Knightsbridge.
André Fu sourced hand-tufted rugs for the Opus Suite from his Tai Ping collection, which employs a variety of techniques and pile heights to achieve sophisticated textures. The collection pays homage to Chinese artisanship, nodding to traditional calligraphy brush strokes in its design. The refined and neutral palette of the carpets creates an atmosphere of intimate decadence.
