French designer Jean-Baptiste Fastrez cut his teeth as an assistant to the Bouroullec brothers. He went on to win the Grand Jury Prize at Design Parade 6, held at the Villa Noailles in 2011, with his Variations on an electric kettle and Tomahawk hair dryers. The material-led designer set up his Paris design studio in the same year and hasn’t looked back, with a run of limited edition and industrial designs with partners that include Danish textile editor Kvadrat and Galerie Kreo in Paris. For Tai Ping, Fastrez created Diagonals of Love and Rainbow Fighter for the Edition Two collection.
