Elaine Yan Ling Ng
The Fabrick Lab
Elaine Yan Ling Ng is a British Chinese visionary multi-media artist that brings together textiles, electronics, biomimicry, interiors and installations. Dubbed the ‘techno fairy’ by Elle Deco, Elaine has worked with international design companies such as Nissan Design Europe and Nokia Design Beijing with multiple design awards.
As a grant recipient of Hong Kong Design Trust, Elaine's feature project included a collaboration with Tai Ping to produce the Dancing Phoenix rug. This one-of-a-kind creation measuring six metres in diameter was made with 72 different yarn combinations including wool, silk and special yarns such as UV and thermal-sensitive fibres that change colour when they come into contact with UV light or heat.
